COVID-19

The government has deemed audiology an essential role to health.

The safety and well being of our patients is always our main priority. Therefore we have taken the time to consider and implement all necessary cleaning and safety procedures. We will always wear the correct standard PPE in clinic, and strictly space our appointments to allow time to thoroughly disinfect and also eliminate the risk of appointments overlapping.

We will continue to stay up to date with, and follow, the guidelines set out by our governing body.

Putting personalised and professional care at the front and centre of the Hummingbird ethos, our comprehensive service covers all aspects of hearing health, working with the very latest and most sophisticated diagnostic equipment. Holding relationships with manufacturers including Starkey, Phonak, Unitron, Oticon, Bernafon, Widex (and more) Hummingbird has the flexibility to determine the best personalised solution for each client, and to prescribe from our extensive range of digital hearing instruments and accessories.

Hummingbird Hearingcare holds three hearing clinics weekly, across the northwest. In addition, we are able to offer a home visit to those unable to get out and about, for various reasons.

We recognise that on-going hearing health is dependent on many factors, and begins with a comprehensive hearing assessment, focusing on the individual needs and unique circumstances of every patient, including the extent of hearing loss, type of hearing loss, ear anatomy, age of the client, consideration of cosmetics (how the instruments look), lifestyle, comfort, and budget.

Should hearing instruments be prescribed, we offer a 2 month money back trial (full refund if not entirely satisfied).

Further to the successful trial period, the patient will benefit from free aftercare for the life of the aid.

About Audiologist Samuel Owen

Samuel’s qualifications are extensive: he is a Certified Lyric Provider, a Clinical Ear Care Hearing Aid Audiologist (Wax Removal), a Registered Hearing aid Dispenser (RHAD) and a Member of the Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (MSHAA). He also holds the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry Qualification and has been a practising audiologist since 2007 working in hospitals, GP surgeries and private clinics all over the Cheshire and Greater Manchester area, helping many hundreds of people with their hearing health.

Samuel says:

I was frustrated with the constraints of working within a large organisation, where I never felt that the relationship was completely between myself as the health care provider, and the client. The impersonal processes in place – a no doubt necessary requirement of running a large organisation – proved a barrier. I often felt that I was not able to truly tailor a client solution (due to restricted product portfolio). Furthermore, I didn’t have the time nor the autonomy to deliver the personal care with a professional approach required to explore and achieve the best results for the client – And not just during the consultation process, but critically the aftercare delivered during the lifetime of the aid.

In 2017 Samuel began practising independently, and Hummingbird Hearingcare was founded. Since its inception, Hummingbird has been delivering excellent care at the local level across Cheshire and beyond, with clients happy to share their positive experiences, and successful outcomes under the care of this establishing local hearing care provider (see testimonials)

Samuel is married with two children and lives in Tarporley, Cheshire.
